@hosford42 @lucybeahere I also don't take much comfort from the thought that anti-#autistic bigots like #BrainWormsJr typically deny that so-called "high-functioning" #autistics (like me) are really autistics at all, claiming instead that we are posers looking for attention and sympathy. This claim is purely a divide-and-conquer tactic, and is NOT in any way representative of how they really feel about us. When and if they think they are capable of carrying out their autistic Holocaust in earnest, they WILL include us in it.

As Amanda Forest Vivian pointed out:

'when people claim that “cure autism now” and the disease model and the Judge Rotenberg Center are not about me, well I beg to differ. The only reason they’re not about me is that I’m old and verbal enough to not be vulnerable to that kind of abuse. They would be all too happy to practice it on me if they could. Autistic people do not get abused because they are low-functioning, they get abused because they do weird things.'

She then shows a photo of an autistic kid being given an electric shock for stimming, and comments:

'If you were in the wrong place at the wrong time, the wrong age, the wrong functioning level, this could be your life.

This [is] what people like them think about people like us.'

@hosford42 @lucybeahere BTW, although I am only self-diagnosed as #autistic and presumably wouldn't be included in the registry as currently planned, I'm not taking much comfort from that. The level of hatred that calls us a plague 1000 times worse than #COVID19 could easily motivate an attempt to hunt down and exterminate ALL #autistics, formally diagnosed or not. Comparable to the hunt for Jews by the original #Nazis.

⭐ Hey #MutualAid community,

🧩 I have autism and struggle with social anxiety, so I’m reaching out today for a bit of mutual aid, if you’re able, please give this post a boost.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 It’s a small ask, but I’m working on accepting my social anxiety, and your support would mean a lot and could help me find new friends nearby to overcome my social anxiety, heal, and feel more comfortable socializing.

🇳🇴 I’m based in Bergen, Norway, with interests in Anarchism, particularly anarcho-syndicalism, as well as free software and Linux.

💙 Thank you so much!

Hey everyone, I am alive and well, for the most part. My new job is a lot on me physically and mentally. I did save up enough to see a dentist for a cleaning. I'm going to need to go for a follow up to get my wisdom teeth extracted. they'll remove the two that's surfaced, but there's one very crooked one that I'll need cut out as it's still under the gums.

Any who, that's one update. I'll post another update in this thread as a follow up!

‘One hell of a turnout’: #trans activists rally in #London against gender ruling

This is AWESOME...!
I'm (technically) a cis woman (I also just see myself as an #autistic PERSON)

AND This "Ruling" sickens me.
I am NOT JUST my Boobs & "downstairs", or ovaries.
There's WAY MORE to being a WOMAN than THAT.

Also worries me about WHAT that MEANS for Trans Men??

SICKENINGLY ORWELLIAN

So, an example of #Autistic folks before modern vaccines is #NikolaTesla! Compassionate, brilliant, and had his ideas stolen by #Edison!

Excerpt from "Was Nikola Tesla Autistic?"

"Some Eccentric Quirks Might Hint at the Possibility of Autism

Tesla garnered headlines for other reasons that fascinated the public, as well:

A carefully regimented daily schedule with work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and dinner at the same restaurant at precisely 8:10 p.m., to be served only by the headwaiter.
Physical tics such as repeatedly curling his toes 100 times each night.
His eidetic memory that allowed him to instantly memorize books and possess perfect recall, allowing him to learn 8 languages easily.
He demonstrated an early ability to perform complex integral calculus computations in his head.
In his youth, Tesla experienced periods of sickness during which he would have visions. These were often the genesis of inventions or solutions to technical problems.
He became obsessed with electricity at an early age.

Because of his inventions and the era in which he lived, many of Tesla’s quirks were seen simply as the eccentricities of a genius—the archetype of the mad inventor.

But looking back, it’s easy to see many of those some quirks as evidence of typical symptoms of an individual with high-functioning autism."
