Looking down a long corridor with an arched roof. There are windows on either side and skylights along the ceiling. Some ladders and tool boxes are along the side of the hallway.

Looking at a low flat yellow brick building straight on. The building has a series of arched windows along it. You can see through them to the other side. There are skylights on the roof. There is a yellow grass field in front and a blue sky with puffy clouds behind.

Looking through a window. Part of the glass reflects the blue sky outside. Inside the building is a pool of water with a window on the other side and railings on either side. The pool reflects the window.

Fenster in bunt und schön aneinandergereiht

Das Bild zeigt eine beleuchtete Straßenszene bei Nacht. Im Zentrum steht ein Gebäude mit einer historisch anmutenden Fassade, die in Gelb- und Grüntönen kunstvoll angestrahlt wird. Im unteren Bereich ist ein Geschäft namens "Marc Cain" mit einer leuchtenden Reklame erkennbar. Die Straße ist leer, nur wenige Passanten sind sichtbar, was die Beleuchtung und die Fassade noch mehr betont und eine ruhige, fast magische Atmosphäre schafft.

In the lower area, a shop called "Marc Cain" can be seen with a luminous advertisement. The street is empty, only a few passers-by are visible, which emphasises the lighting and the facade even more and creates a calm, almost magical atmosphere.

Schwarz-weiß Foto im Hochformat. Blick auf ein älteres Wohnhaus. In der Mitte sind sechs Reihen mit jeweils zwei Fenstern. Sie haben alte weiße Rahmen aus Holz und mattes Glas. Teilweise sind sie gekippt. Alle sind in der Mitte durch ein weißes dünnes Holz getrennt. Bei einem Fenster ist dieses schief. Vermutlich sind es die Fenster vom Treppenhaus. Links und rechts sind jeweils drei Fenster übereinander, die Rollladen in unterschiedlichen Höhen. Auf der rechten Seite vor dem Haus ist ein Laternenpfahl. Dieser ist höher als das Bild. Ebenfalls von rechts ragen die Blätter eines Baumes ins Bild.

Not much of a view from a window in a turf house in Glaumbær, Iceland. But then again, this was probably taken in the cellar room where they used to store food. (This is from our first Iceland trip a dozen years ago so I'm not 100% sure.) I just like the balance between shadow and light in this photo.
