There’s some projects in the gnome sphere that have seen the RIIR treatment, such as librsvg. I personally think it’d be cool if more parts of the stack, such as <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mutter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#mutter</a> were rewritten in rust. It’s one of the most important parts of GNOME’s stack other than gnome shell, which is written in JavaScript as a mutter plugin.But don’t mind my musings, it’s never that simple porting a project to a new language.
