"...out of all the creatures on earth...every creature on earth has sex lives except one creature, and that's a mule. That's why a mule's face is so long. When you see a man or woman with a long face, they ain't hittin' on nothin'! Look how long my face done got since my woman been gone. And the longer my woman be gone, the longer my face gon' get." -Abner Jay

Feeling really lucky to have come across this artifact. Traditional songs have, by definition, been done to death, but Jay's renditions are entrancing. His rendition of How Great Thou Art nearly brought this atheist to tears.

The Wikipedia article on the man reveals so much more you'd never know from looking at his own autobiography and notes. Take a look if you've got a few minutes to learn some American history nobody's trying to teach you.

Despite being in introvert people burnout, went to a public meeting tonight to give feedback on a redesign proposal for the East Bank of the Cumberland River. If you live in Nashville and think it’s a bad idea to put a 6-lane road thru the middle of a new neighborhood, please check this out and give your feedback: surveymonkey.com/r/EastBankBou #Nashville

A little cooler today at 15C/59F for a 14.4km/8.9mi walk. I lingered at 9'14" per km and a moderately light 100 BPM (66%). Sheesh, I know people who have a resting heart rate of 100 BPM.
Last day for the Brooks Ghost shoes. Nice cushioning, light-weight, but the fit was horrible. Back to the Hoka Bondis.

THIS IS OUTSTANDING.

"#Tennessee neighbors form human chain to prevent #ICE from arresting father in driveway
The man and his 12-year-old son were in their driveway when ICE arrived.

Neighbors in the outskirts of #Nashville prevented immigration officials from detaining a man in his driveway, and then formed a human chain to allow the man and his son to return to their home."

"Take These Chains from My Heart" is a song by #HankWilliams. It was written by #FredRose and #HyHeath and was recorded at Williams' final recording session on September 23, 1952, in #Nashville. The song has been widely praised; Williams' biographer #ColinEscott deems it "perhaps the best song [Rose] ever presented to Hank... It was one of the very few songs that sounded somewhat similar to a Hank Williams song." Williams is backed by #TommyJackson (fiddle).
