LotteZJettyKiz**Synaesthesia: The Rip - Portishead**<br><br>Some tracks are so deeply visual that I suspect the artist experiences sound in a similar way.<br><br>The guitar melody in this song feels like a thick, bubbling black river of oil, slowly flowing. And then, at 2:12, a sheet of light gray, grainy asphalt emerges diagonally from that darkness.<br><br>But then Beth Gibbons sings: <br>“Wild, white horses <br>They will take me away.”<br><br>A complete contradiction! But what if you superimpose those two images? White horses struggling to emerge from the sticky black mass, climbing via the gray surface.
