Successfully updated my instance’s host from Ubuntu 22.04 LTS to 24.04 LTS.
Ran into a dependency issue after reboot, but ‘bundle install —force’ fixed it.
All is well. 
After I've upgraded from to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, I encountered the error: "The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly"
I don't know how fix it, that happens every upgrade the #Ubuntu #AppArmor sucks!
And some AppImage, they don't works, I have to use the option "--no-sandbox" and there are others problems related to that as usual. #linux
This is fascinating. #ubuntu is going all in on #rust for core utils. Very encouraging to see such a prominent distro take this route. 
It's with experimentation and care do we get better.

From this I take they're really good at screwing up software with potential.

Last time I had to get involved in the installation process this much was back... well back when #ubuntu was first released (and a few releases after that)
The trick to installing #ubuntu24_10 alongside Windows with LUKS is to boot the #ubuntu installation disk once. Exit the installer, use gparted to create 2 ext4 partitions (/boot and /), reboot and boot from the installation disk again, wait till it gives you the option to install alongside Windows, choose advanced instead, choose LVM with encryption, select "Boot alongside windows" again and hit next.
LVM will stay selected and you'll be asked for a passphrase.
Love what #ubuntu is doing here. We're doing the same with bluefin-cli but implemented differently, we just use the different binaries right from #homebrew
We had uutils on as an option - we'll go ahead make that to just work when you opt in to bluefin-cli now because we may as well help get more people using these tools.

In other personal news, after feeling increasingly alienated by #Apple's slow & steady #enshitification, I fired up an #Ubuntu desktop using a tricked up Pi 5, just to see how viable the Linux lifestyle could be. It's been lots of highs & lows; documention is extensive, but large swathes of it is outdated, and forum support has been sadly dismissive- the answers I got were clipped & confusing. But then, so were my first questions, I suppose..
