What the fuck. How long is this. Jeesus, I regret touching it now but I also want to keep going to see where it leads.

It went under the 1100 kg concrete beam, so I stopped there. Pulled out a few shorter lengths that were under this one.

It's old conveyor belt. There's lots of that here. Very tough and used as walkway on top of mud, which it sank into.

A length of narrow conveyor belt, probably cut to width, folded up and freshly dug out, laying in the grass near where it was found. A corner of rubber floor mat from a vehicle also came up with it.
A long trace of exposed earth and knocked aside sod. In the distance, a curled up length of conveyor belt is visible, stuck under a massive concrete beam.

The detail of the horse heads, the singularity of the pommel, the filigrees, the Nordic-inspired blade.... It's one of those designs that always haunts my mind, and, despite it being a challenge, I felt it was a natural next step in my leather carving and moulding skills. It's been six months of slow progress in my free time, but I couldn't be happier with the result

The second shows both hilts assembled, 4 layers of leather glued together, the handles carved and sanded roughly, the pommels only traced with a pen on the block of layers, and the tooled layers of the guards missing. On the third, the tooled layer is glued to the rest, the pommel is roughly carved in the trapezoidal shape and there is a piece of leather with the final layer of the pommel tooled and still uncut; one of the hilts is facing down showing the back part where the strap will be attached and the stud is placed in the pommel. The three pics behind show the final aspect of the hilts unpainted: a general view of both hilts, one grabbed and one on the cutting mat, a very close up pic of one of the horses neck, the textures of the filigrees and the mane at the external border; and a pic of the corners of the pommels, an almost hidden part from most of viewpoints, with more filigrees carved with a pyrograph

Je ne vous avais pas encore montré ma dernière #ceinture en date pour le cadeau d'une soutenance de thèse d'une cyclo-voyageuse !

J'avais récupéré mon vieux Panaracer GravelKing slick couleur bianchi dans lequel la caillasse de Marseille avait fait une énorme entaille.

Comme la couleur du #pneu est assez claire, j'ai opté pour une boucle foncée avec des maillons de chaîne de la même couleur.

Le pneu étant très fin, j'avais peur que les trous de la ceinture se déchirent rapidement. Alors pour la 1ere fois, j'ai testé des œillets (de la même couleur que la boucle, évidemment) et ça rend trop bien je trouve !

Ceinture en pneu de vélo lisse, couleur vert céleste avec des oeillets foncés.

I wish we could find a better solution than grub screws for attaching pulleys to shafts in 3D printing. Small-scale requirements make it difficult to use other industrial systems.

Grub screws often loosen under the effect of vibration even with Loctite. They also introduce eccentricity. And the tip of the grub screws marks the shaft, making it difficult to remove the pulley.

Any idea how we could improve this?
