The Pokemon I've completed so far. I've decided to try to draw the original 151 (or at least start with them) Pokemon in my drippy style. It's been a lot of fun so far!
For Figure Friday, I wanted to share a relatively recent model kit I got. It's bulbasaur!
Bulbasaur is one of my all time favorite Pokémon, so I had to get this kit when I saw it. I already have a few Pokémon Bandai model kits, including Eevee, Mewtwo, and Rowlet. This one adds to my collection.
As the box says, this is an "Easy Simple Assembly Kit." The biggest difficulty was getting the stickers for the eyes, feet bottoms, and some of the spots to line up. As an adult, I was able to do it with a pair of tweezers. Younger kids may need a bit of assistance with that aspect of the kit.
Overall, easy to build, adorable to look at. Love it!

A bit of a random pickup last week at the toy fair: a Bulbasaur card from Pokémon Jr. Adventure Game: Pokémon Emergency! A freebie given to me by a seller. Not sure what I'll do with it, but it's cool to see!
When I recently purchased the mini Pokémon playset, the seller included some Pokémon figures, created by Topps in 1999, free of charge!
This was a total surprise, as I wasn't expecting them. I still need to look into their origins a bit further, but they were originally in capsules with candy inside of them!

Quick Magfest photo dump. I didn't take a lot of photos cause I was spending most of my time goofing around with my oldest playing video games. And checking out the wide assortment of cool merch.
Biggest surprise for me? Bishi bashi. Never played this Japanese game before and it was wild and silly. There were also a wide assortment of different styles of arcade beat games I've never played before. From ones with turntables to ones with switches (Little MDMRN pictured here playing one of them here).
Merch I picked up for myself? A Bandai Rowlet model kit that I can snap together, an enamel pin of a Gameboy with my favorite starter (bulbasaur), and a Shonen Ashibe Gameboy game.
But yea, overall fun, but exhausting for me cause...crowds.
Anyway, will go again next year.

Tried to worry less about the lineart, I think it turned out fine.
Sat down to watch #DetectivePikachu last night with some of the @polymedia crew, and some scientific conversations arose.
Reminded me of this unofficial, yet endlessly entertaining, book about the anatomy of #Pokemon.
