It's been six months since I caught covid and I feel like I've got my breathing more under control now. This time it was my calves that were complaining. Didn't feel as bad as I expected, regular walking and swimming has clearly helped. The bad, forgot to charge my garmin, so, did i really do it at all?</p>

Last week I killed myself going for it - this week I started quite far back in a field of 856 runners and didn't really push myself. I'm also only 3 minutes behind Trish now, so that seems like it might be an achievable goal? Need to get back to under 30, which I've only managed once. Then just a couple more minutes.....</p><p>Weird really - young me would be horrified by old me. As I am equally horrified by him. The big berk. I felt tired before I'd even left the house. Look, you guys don't want to hear all my boring rambles about running. But also look - I can't help myself. So at some point we must recognise that we share some of the blame. So I thought this morning that I was just aiming to get round and 'enjoy' it. I went to bed at 1 after dancing, 4 pints and a dirty burger so I wasn't going to attempt any world records. I also did a cheeky 7k yesterday and figured that might go against me. But actually I felt good. My time felt good - not as good as last week or my PB but still very respectable (particularly considering there were about 700 runners and I got snarled up at the beginning for fucking ages). The moral of the story is this..... We are 100% definitely living in a simulation and nothing is real. A lot to think about as we go into the weekend. HAVE A BRILLIANT WEEKEND, IMAGINARY PEOPLE!
