292 years ago today. Construction of the Tay Bridge, or General Wade's Bridge, over the River Tay at Aberfeldy in Perthshire began on 23 April 1733. The magnificent 3.14m high Fowlis Wester Pictish symbol stone at Fowlis Wester in Perthshire. This is actually a replica placed here in 1991 when the original stone was moved to the shelter of a nearby church, where it is on display. The world's tallest and longest hedge, the Meikleour Beech Hedge runs alongside and towers over the A93 a few miles south of Blairgowrie in Perthshire.
