Visitors - "Moth" (1979)
One of my favorite years for music. This is a band from Edinburgh, Scotland.
They only released three 7" EPs, but they were all great. John Peel was a fan. He apparently bankrolled the release of their second single. The band lasted only a year or two. I found this by way of a compilation released in 2016.
It's a really fun and unique mix of post-punk and synth-punk. I see the entire EP on on YT

Rest In Power to the incredible and intense bass guitarist Dave Allen, whose work with Gang of Four and Shriekback was a profound influence on my own music when I was at Berklee, and then beyond. I was privileged to get to see Dave with Shriekback in Boston in both 1985 and 1986, and his deep groove, coupled with his post-punk edge, propelled that band to excellence each time. Thank you for the music Mr. Allen!!

Deuxième et dernier album du groupe avant que 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 ne poursuive une carrière solo.
𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘀 est une œuvre majeure, hantée par des thèmes comme l’isolement, la déshumanisation, la perte d’identité. Un monde sombre, dystopique, parfois profondément mélancolique.
Le tout véhiculé par une musique saturée de synthés aux ambiances froides et mécaniques. Impossible de ne pas penser à Kraftwerk, Bowie ou Eno…
