Finally watched some tutorials and got myself off the ground with Nomad Sculpt! Which is funny, since my first project is a flightless kiwi. :3
Working on this lil guy as a potential enclosure for a #RaspberryPi running #Kiwix
Ok so installing #talos from a usb stick didn’t work as it wanted to use the stick as the system disk. Had to image directly on to the internal SSD.
Still, the first worker node is up and running. Couple more to get going. All eBay HP EliteDesk Mini G2s with an i5-6500 processor and 16GB.
Will be selling some 8GB #raspberryPi 4s in a couple of weeks after the upgrade. If you are in the UK and interested let me know…
Today I successfully got #Rust code working for a #RaspberryPi #PicoW board! Not bad. All credit goes to the toolchains and projects... my efforts here are purely exploratory / discovery. My current status is I got some Pico / Pico W sample code working and then merged some samples together to form a foundation I'll build more code on top of. The merged code achieves:
The real TL;DR is: The embassy
project seems to be the best starting point for Rust on a Pico W. (Not a Pico 2, this is an older RP2040 board.)

Due to the #Chromecast situation I ran librelec / #Kodi on the #RaspberryPi but I am struggling to get Youtube to work on it. Why is it so hard
Update: Downloaded the latest beta version of the add-on and it worked.
I have a 'Pi that I've been meaning to get around to setting up. What are some good alternate #Linux distros to use with a #RaspberryPi ?

Think of it like the early days of computer networking – sometimes you need to start small to understand the big picture.

Just playing Super Mario All Stars on an RGB matrix panel as you do.
To keep things together better, I 3D printed a bracket in two pieces, the subject of a work in progress playground note: https://adafruit-playground.com/u/jepler/pages/3d-printed-bracket-for-4-64x64-2mm-rgb-matrix-panels
This is using a 3rd party breakout board with 3 HUB75 connectors. I recently added the ability to drive up to 3 connectors to Adafruit Piomatter, as well as temporal dithering.
In this specific interest, I'm using 2 connectors to drive a total of 4 64x64 panels. --num-planes=6 --num-temporal-planes=2
means I'm getting effective 18 bit color, albeit with the least significant 2 bits being shown on alternate refreshes, creating a tiny amount of 44Hz color shimmer.
All these "go faster" tricks together give me about 88Hz refresh rate on the panel, despite that we're still limited to about 10MB/s of data between the PI's main CPU and the PIO peripheral that's acting as the LED controller.
Homebrew Traffic Monitor Performs Useful Traffic Surveys
“How many cars go down your street each day? How fast were they going? What about folks out on a walk or people riding bikes? It’s not an easy question to answer, as most of us have better things to do than watch the street all day and keep a tally. ...continues
