Axadle | Stay Informed with Horn of Africa HeadlinesAngola Pursues Direct Negotiations With M23 In The DR Congo To Resolve Ongoing Crisis - Axadle | Stay Informed With Horn Of Africa HeadlinesAngola is advancing efforts to mediate the crisis in eastern DR Congo by facilitating direct negotiations between Kinshasa and the M23 rebel group.  Following a meeting in Luanda, Angolan President João Lourenço announced plans to establish talks between the two sides to secure lasting peace. The conflict, rooted in regional tensions and control over mineral resources, has escalated with M23 capturing key cities in North and South Kivu. While Kinshasa initially refused direct talks with M23, accusing Rwanda of backing the rebels, it now appears open to Angola's mediation.  The crisis will also be addressed at the upcoming regional and international forums, including a Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit, the EU-South Africa summit, and a UN Security Council meeting.

Petition to have it so Blackmagic Design has Linux users pay separately for AAC audio codec support as an add-on to Resolve Studio so at least there's a way for Linux users to have all the codecs easily if they want them and make it so the cost doesn't have to increase for anyone else. This doesn't excuse patents existing, in this case patents for math, I just want easy AAC usage.

Checked out descript.com/ – a very impressive AI-assisted video editor of sorts. Give it a video, it'll create a transcript, removing text from the transcript edits the video. Can also auto-remove filler words, uhms, uh, overlong pauses, etc.; and generate new audio w/ your own synth voice.

As amazing as it is, I think there's a market for a local app which takes a vid, analyzes it, and spits out a #Resolve/ #FCP timeline w/ key frames etc. that speed up pauses, mute uhm/ uh/ ahh etc.
