I wrote a simple shell script to manage a Slackware chroot environment for building packages.
Tested with Slackware-current. You can create and access the chroot easily with just a few commands.

The generic Slackware Installer ISO now supports the Parallels hypervisor on macOS/Apple Silicon.

Outside of the /etc dir change, I also retagged the files to use my tag instead of the old KDE6 since I’d heard complaints about that. It also now does not include vlc, its built against AlienBob’s standard vlc package instead of providing my own. #kde6 #slackware
I’ve not done the server stuff yet, there’s some hours before I’ll be able to but here’s a fileshare link to the entire rebuilt #kde6 #slackware for x86_64 https://mega.nz/folder/ZwY02J6K#kizp9KM9EcSSBgHlGiPPrQ it’s everything except flatpak, which will be uploaded at some point tonight. Normally in a humorous way, I'd say "Use Slackware!" 
But honestly, I really get what you mean. The BSD crowd tends to be more about sharing experiences and letting you explore, rather than pushing their own favorites. It's refreshing. On the Linux side, even saying "I'm trying something new" can start a 12-way distro war in the comments
Still, if someone asks me about Linux distros, I will sneak in a "have you tried Slackware?"—because hey, tradition!

Slackware-current just adopted #OpenSSH 10.0.p1 & #OpenSSL 3.5
n/openssh-10.0p1-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. Potentially-incompatible changes include the removal of the weak DSA signature algorithm, completing the deprecation process that began in 2015 (when DSA was disabled by default) and repeatedly warned over the last 12 months.
n/openssl-3.5.0-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded. New LTS release, supported until 08 Apr 2030.

Figured out the #gnome issue and why a live works fine, and an install goes haywire. Pipewire. It’s not default in Slackware and apparently GDM won’t start without pipewire running these days. NO ONE KNOWS THE PAIN THIS HAS CAUSED!! #enable #pipewire #slackware
I had ended up getting Witcher 3 to play in Whisky for Mac and it does perform much, much better than my tries on my M1 a few years ago. Alas, there’s still many stutters, but it doesn’t crash anymore. But it heats up this mba far too much for my liking, as I assume any game will, so I think playing around with games is off the table on here. Guess that means my only game to play is #slackware

I dropped the old version of libtheora as suggested and messed around with the symlinks and I don't know how to get it back to "normal".
(I use multilib, alienbob and kde6 repos)
I currently have this mess in /lib64:

So I put together a #GNOME 48.0 #slackware liveslak, with the basic core desktop (no repo attached). I'd really like to know from anyone who would try it out, if GDM/mutter work on your hardware under Wayland (defaults). I'm trying to understand scenarios where it's broken. The ISO defaults to "Gnome Classic", you'll have to hit the gear in GDM and select "Gnome Wayland" manually first time (if GDM even works for you) login. So there’s a layout issue with notifications on Plasma 6.3.4. Firstly, is it bothering anyone? We can back-port the patch if anyone wants it.
