#Bing lancia la risposta a #AI Mode di Google: #Copilot Search.
Il funzionamento è molto simile: l'utente può porre una domanda, il sistema usa un sistema di reasoning per espandere la ricerca, estrae le fonti, e compone una risposta usando un #LLM.
È possibile visualizzare il "ragionamento" e le query correlate. Tutte le fonti sono consultabili.
Successivamente permette delle ricerche di follow-up.

Ummm, not sure Bing knows what this word means? Bing returned zero results to the word "verisimilitude" other than a mature content warning. Google returned ... a definition. As George W. might say, "That's some weird sh**."

Changed default search engine. From #DuckDuckGo to #Ecosia. Even if it’s #Bing under the hood, it’s the best one can do atm. May use EU infrastructure in the future, I hope. #goeuropean #europeanalternatives #eu

Bing is testing a new menu item called "Search". It is located next to the "Copilot" item and provides a more or less simple results page made by AI.

One interesting feature is "See reasoning": it provides a definition, some specific web searches and linked sources for further reading.

Avevo installato la app di #Bing sul tablet forse una settimana fa per fare i punti anche da lì sopra, che sennò qua è tutto un mezzo casino… ma, nel frattempo, non ho avuto tempo nemmeno di fare login, e quindi non l’ho mai manco aperta. E nonostante questo (…o precisamente a causa di questo?), dall’altro altro ieri ha iniziato a mandarmi notifiche, tipo una al giorno, su top notizie imperdibili che non ho chiesto (non me ne frega un accidente; o almeno, non leggerei da Bing).

Magari questa è una coincidenza, ma in quel caso è solo più curiosa, perché queste notifiche sul tablet dopo giorni di silenzio sono iniziate a uscire nel momento in cui ho notato che anche Windows 10 ha iniziato a fare la stessa cosa (anche se magari lì ha preso il vizio da giorni ancora prima e non ci ho fatto caso subito?), mandandone però nell’area news dedicata della taskbar (grazie al cielo, non come notifiche normali). Quindi… wtf, da un giorno all’altro #Microsoft ha premuto l’acceleratore sulle notizie?

This #morning I thought I heard my #train arriving so I started to #hurry down the #stairs to the platform, but no train. After more stairs, I saw the #local C had just pulled up farther than usual (or was shorter than...) so I started #running to catch it. But I noticed the #doors were closed, so I stopped running. Then the doors opened, so I started running again, then the doors closed #bing #bong & I missed it LOL.
But before I could get to my end of the #platform, the local E came, all good.

Das ist mal eine Information, die etwas Hoffnung macht auf Souveränität in der #EU Aber ich hoffe, dass dann auch im Hintergrund keine Infrastruktur läuft, von der man sich dann wieder abhängig macht, wie z.B. #AWS usw.

We've all seen the issues with using #Bing aerial imagery being sometimes unusable in #JOSM.

The OSMF's EWG has been in touch with #Microsoft 2 weeks ago, and are waiting for a response. So please stand by!

Two weeks ago we asked if ok for all OSM editors to uses the key used by iD, as that account has a a different limit, and should be good until 2028. They have not yet responded. Bing is testing 'AI Search' mode -> And I've been testing it a bit since yesterday. Bing enables you to view its reasoning, then provides an AIO-like response. There are inline citations, and then a list of sources at the bottom. Then you can continue the conversation via preselected Bing queries. You can't ask freeform questions based on the initial response. See some screenshots below.
