I honestly only ever used Chime to talk to partners at #AWS, so its demise will simplify my life in a small way. It is interesting if unsurprising that #Amazon's announcement recommends Zoom or Slack as alternatives for bereft #Chime users, but does not mention Microsoft Teams at all… https://techcrunch.com/2025/02/20/amazon-shuts-down-chime-its-zoom-alternative/
The real culprit is the Amazon AWS team that maintains the Chime SDK. Another billion dollar company, though. So, still no excuse.
Between Slack and Amazon, they should be able to assign an engineer or two to fix this after two years.
I'm not asking for anything free or for it to fixed immediately. I'm a paying customer of Slack (who I presume is a paying customer of AWS). And, I just want it fixed on a shorter timescale than two years, especially given other communication platforms have figured it out.
New water filter at work. You choose your temp, place your cup, then put your hand over a sensor to start the water and it plays a chime, let's say a high "G" (g6). When you uncover the sensor to stop the flow, it makes another tone. Which do you think it is? Vote below -

Machine still starts up fine as far as I can tell without a drive, but this started happening not long after I'd tried a (possibly faulty) adapter for my SD2SCSI (I've got a proper cable coming instead now).
If it's not a fault noise, then it might mean the SND or 6522 ICs are damaged. I've already replaced the caps to that, no luck.
Thoughts?
