Hot take incoming!
Over the past decade, we’ve seen phenomenal progress in HTTPS adoption. I call it “The Quiet HTTPS Revolution,” and I wrote all about it here: https://medium.com/@boblord/the-quiet-https-revolution-637a1c40ec6a
It’s been a game-changer, and we should totally celebrate this victory! 


But here’s the thing: it’s almost 2025, and we should already be at 100% HTTPS for 95% of users.
Knowing what we know about today’s threat landscape, there’s just no reason why my dad (or other average users!) should land on a site without HTTPS, or use an app that fetches assets over HTTP—like the Neiman Marcus iPhone app.

Yes, the last mile is always tough, but it’s also essential.
The internet can be a dangerous place, and it’s time for operating systems and browsers to step up and prioritize our safety. 
If we can’t have that by Christmas
, can we at least aim for the 4th of July?
