@ami_angelwings Oh no... This one is so hard... I can think of a whole bunch of games that each have my favorite opening of all time. Yes, multiple favorites. Narrowing to just one is hard!

I guess... Maybe I'll go with Ar nosurge. That game was just such an... experience. The music, atmosphere, story, characters, all of it. Especially the music! And it all started with a heck of a nice opening.

For #MoodMusicMonday I don't have a great one for a theme of "clarity" but I sort of felt like sharing this: youtube.com/watch?v=gtvy9-PTy6k

The animation is really neat, the song is really catching, and, hey, the song's theme is basically "don't forget about me when the sky clears up." (Clarity, hah! Get it?)

I'm not quite 100% sure how to answer this #JMusicFriday theme of #ForTheNoob since the only thing I can think of to answer someone new to Japanese music would be to try to figure out what style music they like and suggest something I know of with that style.

I guess I'll go with this: youtube.com/watch?v=3bNpHADFGTY

Many people who don't know much about Japanese music assume it's all the stuff they know about in pop. Especially they might think of the super silly stuff like Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (who even made it into Simpsons...) I might like to introduce some people to the fact that there are all kinds out there, including this nice, somewhat grungy sounding rock, so I might introduce someone to something like this just to say "hey, it's not all silly pop!"

Legit one of the best Japanese composers right now. He also has excellent taste when it comes to choosing the singers. Many hidden gems among his songs.

With this week's #JMusicFriday being themed #HatsuneMiku I'm tempted to cheat and just post one of the many many many many #utaite covers of various #Vocaloid songs I listen to every single day (no small number of which were originally using Miku.)

But maybe I'll do something a little more interesting this time:

This was a super early cover by #YanagiNagi (original NND post in 2008!) I consider this not to be cheating because Miku's voice is still left in there in a number of parts. It's also really neat because this is one of those super early covers hailing back to truly different times. EDIT: I made a mistake. But anyway, she did collab with Ryo in album releases under Supercell even if not as an official member.

#MoodMusicMonday is about feeling #fuzzy eh?

This one always gave me a sort of feel along those lines on multiple levels. It's one of Mary's earlier covers, so there's more of a sort of saturation going on at times (I don't know, I kind of like it) and the recording quality isn't as good as later uploads, yet that only serves to add all the more to this. It's from a period where people were messing around more, learning the ropes more at this stuff, and etc, happier times for some at least. Plus Mary just has a calming sort of voice.

You know what? I'm tired of living alone with this. I'm inflicting this pain on all of you guys too.

This song has been living rent free in my head since I first watched Arakawa: Under the Bridge many many years ago. Yes, it sticks in the head that much.

The problem is, it's this really dumb idiotic song the most irritating character in the show (Hoshi) wrote randomly off the top of his head, but the stupid song actually sounds really good. I don't think NiNo even had a red coat! So why even- ARG!

Oh, this #MoodMusicMonday is about "submissive" but it can include defiance of submission. I absolutely 100% have one that fits the defiance category and it's one of my absolute favorites by this artist too.

(Translation in the closed captions btw. But the person who did them was trying to add a lot of stylish stuff and it may hit the CPU a bit hard on weak devices. The translation is also in the information on the song post itself.)

I've said I'm not much for pop, but there are very rare exceptions and Zuttomayo is among those very few (though I haven't liked much of their latest works.) Really love ACAne's style as always. But one thing that the group(s?) has always been really amazing at is those bass lines...

Anyway, this one is just super catchy all around.

Also dancing zombie. :mikuzombie:

So this #MoodMusicMonday topic is Love. Well, that makes sense for February I guess. Really to one extent or another that probably fits like 90% of music, but I wanted to at least try to find something in some way a bit more unusual than the standard.

I'm not normally that big on pop in general, but Eve's music is pretty good with catchy sounds and good themes and styles and this one is no exception:
