#TalesFromTheLoop is a horribly underrated series on #Primevideo. Based on a series of #scifi paintings by Swede Simon #Stålenhag, and powered by music by #PhilipGlass, the series is beautifully filmed, meditative and more evocative than #TheElectricState (also based on Simon’s work). Each episode is a mini sculpture of humans and storytelling.

Though I admit it requires the right mindset to fully enjoy.

The Electric State is an ok movie. It starts a bit rough. And some of the script remains a bit rough throughout. But it's not bad. Acting is great all around. W/ some surprises in the robot voices. Some awkward product placement.

The overal experience is enjoyable. Not as strong as it could be, but still fun if your down for it. An interesting world & story of robots, sentience, drones, and what humans do with that.

Mamma mia che recensioni negative per #TheElectricState. Magari non avrà il tocco magico di un #film come #Bumblebee (sarà che lì c'era Spielberg dietro le quinte?) ma è assolutamente godibile. E quando i protagonisti salgono sul bus al suono di I fought the law dei Clash anche qualcosa in più. I 320 milioni di dollari non li abbiamo spesi noi, non c'è motivo di arrabbiarsi! Quest'ultima proposizione vale anche in altri ambiti #scifi

Der neu erschienene Film #TheElectricState auf #netflix ist ein nettes Jugendabenteuer ab 13 Jahren mit wunderschönen Roboterfiguren - mehr aber nicht. Von der Stimmung des illustrierten, gleichnamigen Buches von Simon Stalenhag aus dem Jahr 2018 vermag es kaum etwas zu vermitteln.

I'm 30 minutes into The Electric State and I'm about to quit. But, I'm actually half watching because of the amazing integration of special effects. The robots look so good.

I really enjoyed The Electric State as a book.

I also really enjoyed the film.

Tales From The Loop (on big A) captured Simon Stålenhag’s world so well (for me, YMMV). But as soon as Mr. Peanut appeared in the ES film it was clear this was a different beast and could be watched as a stand alone piece that happened to share a name.

We’ve now put on ‘The Electric State’. Dreadful. Big budget Netflix action comedy, which is light on storyline and jokes. Disappointing, considering the actors involved. #theelectricstate #netflix #netflixmovies #films #fimsky #movies #moviesky

The dichotomy between Critics and Audience on The Electric State is astounding.

I had put this on my list to try to watch tonight, I may still do it but I am wary.

The movie had a reported budget of $320 million.It is one of the most expensive movies ever made.
