Beaucoup ont suivi ces derniers jours les déboires #Rust4Linux, le ras-le-bol public (justifié, à mon sens...) de Hector Martin (qui a supprimé son compte Mastodon, d'où tout était parti). Il était le lead dev du super projet @AsahiLinux, et a abandonné toute fonction au sein du kernel et de celui-ci (son blogpost sur le sujet : https://marcan.st/2025/02/resigning-as-asahi-linux-project-lead/). L'un des catalyseurs de cette démission était la réponse de Linus #Torvalds, qui a choisi de défendre ses mainteneurs sans prendre en compte les réels problèmes remontés, depuis déjà des années, par les gens essayant concrètement d'intégrer #Rust au kernel (voir sa réponse à un message de Hector Martin : https://lkml.org/lkml/2025/2/6/1292).

Aujourd'hui, @gregkh nous livre ce que je considère être un modèle de leadership, et nous prouve à nouveau en quoi il ne vole pas sa place de n°2 de #Linux. Une réponse mesurée, qui ne jette personne sous le bus, mais qui essaye d'emmener la communauté vers plus de *goodwill* envers Rust dans Linux. Si ce message ne convainc pas les mainteneurs concernés d'arrêter de mettre des bâtons dans les roues de Rust dans Linux, je pense que rien ne le fera.
