Finally a new #Shapely feature release!
Shapely 2.1.0 highlights include initial support for geometries with M or ZM values, functionality for coverage validation and simplification, and a set of other new top-level functions.

Does anybody know the "Flatten" SAGA GIS tool? Any idea how to replicate it with Python/PostGIS? I've been trying but my knowledge of Shapely is just not enough. Basically, what it does is "flattening" a polygon layer, intersecting overlapping polygons.

Recently, I needed an algorithm to decompose an arbitrary #polygon into N segments of roughly the same size (and some shape constraints.

I really appreciate the #Python package #Shapely and the Voronoi function of #scipy.

I also find it kind of pleasing to just observe the algorithm sedulously doing its job.
