Just read the text Give Up Activism as a zine, it's from 1999 but still really worth a read and a think. it's a critique on the role, self-conception and clique building of activists and how some pitfalls can lead to us hampering our impact we want to have.

Not everything is going to apply or be relevant, but to me the takeaway is to keep striving for a life and a world where "making the world better" isn't like a job some experts do and can pick up or put down as it suits us, but is just a natural part of everyday life for as many everyday people as possible.

In order to be a Marxist, you must also be a materialist. This isn't up for debate. Marxism is a materialist ideology. You can't accept Marxism without accepting materialism also.

Americans, even the leftists of America, aren't even at the level of accepting materialism as a fact. The left of America is infested with idealism.

America has a very long way to go before it ever accepts Marxism.
