Golden Fronted Woodpecker in Morning Light by Debra Martz
This was a first for me to capture an image of a Woodpecker using its tongue to retrieve food from the trunk of a tree. They have powerful chisel-like beaks & long, specialized tongues to help access food other birds can't.

Da un parcheggio sotto Santa Santa Maria al Monte siamo saliti al Monte Pizzelle, poi siamo scesi sulla strada che porta a Brinzio.

A metá strada, al passo Varro siamo risaliti sul Pizzelle seguendo la cresta nord. Un pezzo molto bello ma ostico, per capirci, nella prima foto il sentiero c'é ma non si vede. Sconsiglio di farlo in discesa!

Poi da lí ritorno alla macchina.
