Interessant finde ich auch, dass #PublicAffairs naturgemäß aus dem Blickwinkel eines individuellen Akteurs denkt. Es weist m.E. den Weg, vom Individuum her zu denken, seine Motive und Interessen in den Blick zu nehmen, sich an Parteiarbeit als individuell interessantem Prozess zu beteiligen. 11/x

#PublicAffairs beschreibt ein System der kontinuierlichen Umweltbeobachtung, Lagebeurteilung und Strategieentwicklung, wie man es intuitiv auch von einer Partei erwarten könnte. Ich finde, das man sich angesichts dessen sehr viele Fragen stellen kann, ob und wie analog zu alldem Parteiarbeit funktioniert. 9/x

Ich finde deswegen die US-amerikanisch geprägte Politikmanagementmethodik von #PublicAffairs interessant, weil sie als Referenz und Benchmark taugt, was massenintegrative Arbeitsprozesse und digitale Infrastruktur eines politischen Vereins bzw. die #Parteiarbeit im Wettbewerb mit Partikularinteressenträgern leisten könnten. 5/x

#Introduction

I'm mostly retired now after careers in strategic communications and public affairs with the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Department of Defense, a U.S. intelligence agency, and a major U.S. defense contractor. I read a lot of news and lurk more than I post.

These days I spend time supporting and advocating for public libraries, and my wife and I enjoy biking on rail trails and canal towpaths. I have often shared photos from our various bike trips.

I live mostly in Northern Virginia but spend a fair amount of time in California.
