This dance act is a fusion of different cultures, heavily influenced by Angolan kuduro music.

When I hear this track, the beat feels like thin layers of crinkled silver foil. The melody, on the other hand, looks like the brightly colored, recycled plastic bowls I’ve seen in West Africa.

I imagine a character for my story. Somehow that vision develops itself so I would eventally see their appearance.
I wanted to call them X or Y. But now I feel I cannot! Because colours of these chosen names match badly with their hair colour! :neofox_floof_yell:

Sometimes it could break my vision...

**Synaesthesia: The Rip - Portishead**

Some tracks are so deeply visual that I suspect the artist experiences sound in a similar way.

The guitar melody in this song feels like a thick, bubbling black river of oil, slowly flowing. And then, at 2:12, a sheet of light gray, grainy asphalt emerges diagonally from that darkness.

But then Beth Gibbons sings:
“Wild, white horses
They will take me away.”

A complete contradiction! But what if you superimpose those two images? White horses struggling to emerge from the sticky black mass, climbing via the gray surface. A breathtaking visual composition that I, unfortunately, can never truly show anyone.

For as long as I can remember, my senses have been intertwined. Music is never just sound—it's a world of colors, textures, and motion. Listening feels like stepping into an abstract landscape, where sounds translate into vivid visual experiences.

I was about 12 when this track came out. Hundreds of times, I played it on repeat on my lime green Sony Discman, trying to ‘see’ every sample and sound layered into it.

I knew it for sure: one day, I would make music videos, just like the ones I watched for hours on MTV.
