#Snowdrops blooming, all over the place.

The Golden Trio

I had a goal during this photo walk - to find unique sceneries of Winter aconites and other Spring flowers I have already photographed in the previous photo walk. I decided to go for compositions with more than one flower in the scene. These three small yellow blooms stood out so well against all the rest and became my photo model

I'm enjoying the focus bracketing feature on my Sony a7 IV. When combined with the FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS lens, I can get so much detail in these small Spring flowers by combining the photos through focus stacking

The bees love the snowdrops.

The pod or whatever it's called that the flower emerges from is sticking up and curved to the left slightly. The background that is out of focus is blue sky with wispy clouds, two trunks of a very large and old arborvitae that has the lower branches pruned off, a hazel tree, willow trees, an western white pine on the right, and decaying leaves on the ground.

I saw a bee with orange pollen so I investigated the flowers. I found a bee on the snowdrops but the pollen is yellow!

The ground has thawed and the snowdrops have resumed growing.

This day exploded with snowdrops, bees, insects, and the first Red Admirable butterfly (Vanessa atalanta). Since my early childhood, it's my ritual to fill the first seen #flowers after winter into this vase. The snowdrops in our village date from the 1920s. A wonderful scent, the bees are powdered with pollen! If it's too cold, snowdrops are self-pollinators.
